Medtronic is to incorporate Avecor Cardiovascular into its reorganised perfusion systems division. The unit includes Medtronic's blood management and cardiopulmonary business. Medtronic says the combined businesses will provide the leading cardiac perfusion product line. Earlier this month, Medtronic agreed to sell Avecor's non-occlusive arterial pump to settle US anti-trust concerns (see Clinica No 850, p 9).
