Israel uses radiation treatment for restenosis

A 63-year-old Israeli man last week became the first patient outside the US to receive new radiation treatment to clear a blocked coronary artery stent. For the treatment, known as endovascular brachytherapy, a small gamma radiation source is placed next to, or in, a lesion caused by restenosis.
