Visualization Technology has received the all-clear from the FDA to market its InstaTrak 3000 system, an image-guided surgery device for ear, nose and throat surgery, brain tumour removal and orthopaedic applications. The system plots the movement of surgical instruments in the body and correlates them to medical images displayed on a monitor. It allows surgeons to see critical anatomical structures in real time and perform surgery with smaller incisions.
