Baxter Healthcare has launched its range of next generation heart valve repair products, the Carpentier-Edwards Classic, Carpentier-Edwards Physio and the Cosgrove-Edwards annuloplasty devices. The products all use Baxter's heparin-based coating, Duraflo, which improves the blood compatibility of medical devices by reducing the activation of the clotting system that naturally occurs when blood comes into contact with foreign materials.
