Representatives from China's State Drug Administration (SDA) are to visit EUCOMED, the European medical device association, on June 6, as part of a European tour to strengthen commercial and industrial ties. Led by Ren Dequan, deputy director general of the SDA, the delegation will include the director of the SDA's Department of Medical Devices (DMD), Hao Heping, the head of product registration, Chang Yongheng, and the directors of the SDA's five regional DMDs. The tour will take the delegation to France, Italy, Belgium and Germany. It will serve to highlight the huge potential of the Chinese healthcare industry and give European industry representatives an opportunity to discuss issues such as the new medical device regulations and healthcare reform (see Clinica No 843, p 7 and No 898, p 8).
