Executive Summary
Despite the negative pressure from lack of funds in the UK National Health Service and competitive pricing in that market, Redditch, Worcestershire-based Surgicraft says that its profit rose 192% last year, though it declined to name the amount. A growing export business and the division of the company into three units (soft tissue reconstruction, obstetrics and gynaecology and spinal products) has accelerated growth. Surgicraft said that "spectacular" export success had resulted in a year-on-year 11% increase in its spinal business and a 55% growth in tissue reconstruction products. The company is attempting to develop its exports by registering existing and new products in the US, Japan and Korea.
