Executive Summary
UL International (UK) has received accreditation from the UK Medical Devices Agency to extend its quality assurance conformity testing to include many sterile medical devices. The notified body can now test all sterile single-use devices, excluding Class III devices, ophthalmic devices, implants and surgical dressings, to the requirements of the Medical Devices Directive (MDD). It has also been accredited to test gloves and urinary catheters to Annex IV of the MDD, the batch verification route.
