St Jude's active fixation pacing lead:
This article was originally published in Clinica
St Jude Medical has received US FDA approval for its Tendril SDX steroid-eluting, active fixation pacing lead. The device's unique narrow diameter (6.2 Fr) and design allow flexibility in positioning and make the implantation procedure more efficient. The lead incorporates a steroid-eluting tip that reduces inflammation and decreases the energy requirements for pacing. The active fixation design employs a small helix for anchoring the tip in the heart.
