Ahead of the expected rapid growth in point-of-care testing in Spain, guidelines are to be issued regarding good working practice and quality standards. Sediglac, the clinical laboratory sector's umbrella organisation, is drafting recommendations which, it hopes, will influence healthcare administration. They are due for release in June. Dr Carles Pascual, president of Sediglac, has highlighted the extent to which the organisation is promoting a closer relationship between laboratories and healthcare providers in a rapidly evolving market.
