Merck is to combine its laboratory businesses - currently consisting of divisions Merck Eurolab and VWR Scientific Products - to form an independent company with the aim of floating "a substantial part" within two years. The German company says the combined business, the world's largest laboratory chemicals distributor, will be located in the US.
