General Electric Medical Systems (GEMS) will market and distribute MRI coils from two-year-old Surgi-Vision - an emerging technology company marketing novel imaging products developed at Baltimore, Maryland-based Johns Hopkins University department of radiology. Surgi-Vision, of Columbia, Maryland, got FDA 510(k) clearance for its oesophageal and aortic coil last September. GEMS plans to market the device alongside its GE Signa MRI scanner. Later products from Surgi-Vision are planned to image the heart, urethra and prostate gland.
