UK CompanyCorin Medical has received 510(K) clearance from the US FDA for its Taper-Fit total hip system. The tampered design of the system reduces shear stresses at the implant-cement interface and increases radial compression throughout the cement mantle. Load distribution is promoted throughout the proximal femur, the Cirencester, Gloucestershire-based company said.
