Premier Laser Systems, which last month laid off all but 16 of its 80-strong workforce, has been forced to give unpaid leave to all but nine of its employees. The cuts were forced on the Irvine, California-based company by "temporary liquidity issues", while a consultant attempts to put together a rescue package for the surgical laser eyecare and dental company.
