Executive Summary
Surgi-Vision has received US FDA 510(k) clearance for its miniaturised internal MRI coil for detecting diseases in the prostate. The disposable Intercept prostate micro-coil is similar in size to common urology catheters and is used in conjunction with existing MRI machines to produce extremely high-resolution images of the prostate from inside the body, said the Columbia, Maryland company. The device is Surgi-Vision's third Intercept internal coil - the other two are used for urethral and oesophageal applications.
