Executive Summary

Physicians in the US will soon not have to contend with a myriad of coverage policies when they order common laboratory tests for their elderly or disabled patients. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that Medicare is setting up national coverage policies for 23 clinical laboratory tests that account for over half of all laboratory payments.
