The French healthcare products safety agency, AFSSAPS, is setting up a working group to look at reusable medical devices and disinfection and sterilisation equipment. The group will report and advise on: whether single use or reusable devices should be used in procedures where there is a risk of transmission of unconventional transmissible agents; and equipment or accessories that are used to clean, disinfect or sterilise medical devices.
