Closure Medical has granted Johnson & Johnson Wound Management worldwide supply, distribution and development rights to its professional wound management platform, including its Liquid Occlusive Dressing (LOD). J&J Wound Management, part of the Ethicon division, has rights to the products for the management and treatment of partial-thickness wounds. Raleigh, North Carolina-based Closure plans to submit a 510(k) to the FDA for the LOD product in mid-2002. The company estimates the global advanced wound management market to be worth around $1 billion.
