Executive Summary
Dutch company IsoTis is launching its first biological product, CellActive skin. The product, which is intended for the treatment of severe burns, consists of keratinocyte sheets cultured from the patient's own cells. Initially, the product will be available to 12 hospitals in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. CellActive is indicated for patients with burns to over 60-70% of the body surface. The Bilthoven company says that there are around 150 patients each year with this degree of burns to the body.
