The German medical device industry association (BVMed) is making another concerted effort to gain a seat on the recently established hospital committee (Ausschuss Krankenhaus). It currently has 19 members from the sickness funds and doctors' associations and is responsible for evaluating medical procedures due to be introduced in hospitals and reimbursed by the statutory health insurance funds.
