German health minister Ulla Schmidt said that disease management programmes (DMPs) for heart disease, depression and breast cancer did not represent the boundary of her new health policy. Speaking at the political forum on healthcare objectives, gesundheitsziele.de, last week in Berlin, she said: "We had to make an initial choice where to begin, but there are still many areas that need to be explored, such as dementia, stroke and intestinal cancer."
