GE Medical continues expansion with Imatron buyout

Specialist imaging equipment company Imatron has agreed to be acquired by GE Medical Systems (GEMS), for about $201.5 million, to be paid in GE shares. This is the latest in a series of reasonably modest acquisitions by GEMS in recent years. Imatron's share price jumped from $1.4 to $1.8 on the news.
