Executive Summary

A new study has shown that mammography screening has the potential to predict which women with small breast tumours would benefit from adjuvant treatment, sparing others from undergoing aggressive therapy. If confirmed by further research, the findings could have substantial implications for breast cancer therapy, said a team led by Laszlo Tabar from Falun Central Hospital in Falun, Sweden.
