Executive Summary
Patients with multivessel coronary artery disease fare well if treated with a combination of minimally invasive surgery, angioplasty and stenting, according to German researchers. Reporting in the January edition of Heart, Hannover Medical School researchers performed surgical revascularisation on 35 patients, of which four had single-vessel disease, 21 had double-vessel disease and the rest triple-vessel disease. The left anterior descending artery was grafted to the left internal mammary artery and further lesions underwent angioplasty.
