Esaote has signed a technical and commercial co-operation agreement with Hitachi Medical to strengthen the two companies' position in the worldwide ultrasound market. While keeping independent manufacture of current lines, the Italian and Japanese companies will seek to improve economies of scale in component design and manufacture. They will combine R&D and attempt to improve commercial co-operation in specific countries. The three-year agreement will see joint development of some new products.
