St Louis, Missouri-based LaserVision Centers, which provides excimer lasers, is to buy certain assets and liabilities of ClearVision Laser Centers, as well as the assets of Ophthalmic Resources. ClearVision, of Lakewood, Colorado, operates fixed and mobile excimer lasers for use in LASIK surgery, while Ophthalmic Resources is an Omaha, Nebraska-based cataract surgery company. The ClearVision deal was for stock and is expected to close this month. LaserVision bought Ophthalmic Resources for cash. The company said the purchases should add to earnings from 2002.
