Richard Simmons has been appointed senior vice-president of global operations at refractive, cataract and glaucoma surgery device company Staar Surgical (Monrovia, California). His career has included positions at Chiron Vision and Bausch & Lomb. Other management changes at the company (see Clinica No 969, p 11) have been announced as follows: Lisa Marston, as global director of quality systems; Deborah Andrews, as global controller; and John Santos, as vice-president, corporate planning and development.
