The ministry of public health in Qatar is to launch a health insurance scheme to cover expatriates. It has already established a high-level committee including representatives from the ministries of public health and civil service and housing, as well as the planning council, to draft proposals for the scheme, minister of public health Dr Hajar Ahmed Hajar told the Gulf Times. He said that the scheme would help relieve the burden on the treasury, while at the same time offering quality treatment.
