Brazil has unveiled plans to establish by 2004 a high technology oncology network, providing "state of the art" diagnostics and therapy facilities. Twenty existing centres attached to the national health service - Sistema nico de Saude (SUS) - are to be re-equipped at a cost of R$44 million (US$17 million).
