Executive Summary
Bilateral medical device trade between the Czech Republic and the EU will be possible well ahead of 2005, the date when the Czech Republic is due to accede to the EU, if the European industry association (EUCOMED) can persuade the Czech authorities to include device in its PECA. Michael Baker, director general of EUCOMED, is to meet the Czech Minister of Health, Bohumil Fiser, in Prague on July 17 to negotiate expansion of the scope of the Protocol to Europe Agreement on Conformity Assessment agreement (PECA).
