Executive Summary

Medical imaging company Fonar has announced the sale of its Indomitable stand-up MRI device to the University of Aberdeen. The university was given a UK government grant to develop positional imaging in medicine. One of the researchers who chose Fonar's device, Dr Francis Smith, said of the stand-up positional imaging technology: "I expect that within five years anyone who performs only recumbent MRI of the spine will be deemed to be negligent."
