MDA (Medical Devices Agency) scores high on device report investigations

The UK Medical Devices Agency actively investigated 4,466 of the 7,249 adverse incident reports it received in 2000 involving medical devices. A total of 2,858 incidents were investigated by manufacturers under MDA supervision during 2000 and in 915 cases manufacturers undertook to improve their designs or manufacturing systems.
