There is an urgent need for HIV drug resistance tests in Spain, according to experts at the national centre for fundamental biology. Less than 10 hospitals in Spain are equipped to carry out these tests, El Pais reports. The reason for this is the expensive nature of the specialised equipment and highly-qualified personnel the technology requires.
