Executive Summary
Erkki Liikanen, the European Commissioner for Enterprise and the Information Society, is to attend this year's Global Medical Devices Conference on Improved Patient Access to New Medical Technologies in October (see below). This is a great coup for the medical devices industry association, EUCOMED, which recently made moves to develop its relationship with Mr Liikanen in an effort to try and elevate the perception of the medical devices industry within the official channels of the European Union (see Clinica No 953, p 2).
