Finland may be the latest country to open its hospital doors to Norwegian patients. 11 hospitals, spread over the entire country, have entered into talks with the Norwegian ministry of health. A deal may be made within the next two months. Around 4,000 Norwegians will receive treatment abroad this year and the government hopes to increase this number to 8,000-10,000 over the next few years. It has set aside NKr1 billion ($110 million) for this project and has already sent patients to Germany, whilst also negotiating with hospitals in Sweden and Denmark.
