Launch of new health committee in Saudi Arabia:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

A new ministerial committee has been set up to look at Saudi Arabia's future healthcare needs and develop its health infrastructure. Launched by Crown Prince Abdullah, the committee will be headed by planning minister, Khaled bin Mohammad al-Gasaibi. Its formation was prompted by the currently unsatisfactory planning procedures of the past. Requirements for hospitals in particular have altered considerably due to changing technology. Proposals being considered at present include two 200-bed hospitals in Beljarashi and Sakaka and a 500-bed hospital in Mina.
