Eighteen operating theatres and 26 diagnostics imaging areas are among the "state-of-the-art" facilities to be provided in a major new hospital complex in Lugo, in Spain's north-western region of Galicia. The centre's nuclear medicine section will house two gamma cameras, an operating theatre specialising in radiotherapy, densiometry and brachytherapy, two linear accelerators and a simulator. Construction of the 823-bed hospital will begin in December this year and is due for completion within the next three years.
