An e-health technology centre, to promote existing and new electronic business for the Australian Health Insurance Commission (HIC), has been opened by health minister Michael Wooldridge. The centre will provide a focal point for HIC to maintain links between general practitioners, specialists and pathologists and will bridge the gap between the community and the health sector. The centre will also allow the testing of new products to ensure they integrate with existing products and systems.
