Abbott has signed a five-year supply agreement with AmeriNet for its VanishPoint single-use retraction blood collection tube holders and single-use retractable syringes. The products are manufactured by Retractable Technologies. Between 600,000 and 800,000 injuries from needlesticks and other hospital sharps occur each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Abbott says.
