The Canadian province of Alberta has increased to C$57 million (US$38.2 million) the fund it set up to strengthen its surgical services. New equipment is highlighted as a priority of the fund, which has just received an additional C$10 million. The province is driving to improve key surgical specialisms, including neurosurgery and transplantation.
