Executive Summary

ADAC Laboratories, a Philips Medical Systems company, has received US FDA 510(k) clearance to market its intensity modulation radiation therapy (IMRT) inverse planning software for its Pinnacle3 product. The P3IMRT determines the optimal treatment plan after a radiation oncologist has defined the desired tumour dose and tolerance to critical tissues. Milpitas, California-based ADAC's Pinnacle3 is a three-dimensional radiation therapy planning system, which was cleared in the US last year (see Clinica No 905, p 14).
