Executive Summary
The German industry association, BVMed, has seen its membership rise from 161 at the start of 2000 to 173 this year. The 7% increase comes in spite of a number of mergers and acquisitions. Some new members were attracted by BVMed's change of name from "federal association of the medical device industry" to "German medical technology association" thereby widening its field of interests to include brachytherapy and apheresis.
