Boston Scientific has gained US FDA clearance to sell its Express biliary LD pre-mounted stent system for alleviating malignant biliary obstruction - a blockage in any ducts that carries bile from the liver to the gallbladder and on to the small intestine. The system incorporates Boston's Tandem Architecture stent design with Ultra-thin SDS balloon catheter technology. The low profile, balloon-expandable stent comes in a wide range of sizes, says the Natick, Massachusetts firm.
