Medical technology is again being blamed for rising health care costs. A Blue Cross Blue Shield Association study released last week found that new technologies are a major factor behind recent cost increases. The cost of inpatient hospital care rose 11.8% between 1998 to 2000, according to data based on claims filed by one of the nation's major insurers with three million enrollees across the US.
