Bacchus Vascular has enrolled the first patient into its US clinical study to test its Fino thrombectomy catheter as a means of treating deep venous thrombosis (DVT). The catheter successfully removed residual chronic and acute thrombus from the central and peripheral veins in a patient following three days of catheter-directed thrombolysis, reported the Santa Clara, California firm. Bacchus has already CE-marked the catheter for sale in Europe.
