Fischer and R2 join forces:

Fischer Imaging is to integrate R2 Technology's computer aided detection (CAD) software into its SenoScan full field digital mammography (FFDM) system, following an agreement between the two firms. Under the deal, Fischer will have sole worldwide distribution rights to its FFDM system integrated with R2's technology, called ImageChecker. The combination of the two devices will require US approval for clinical use and both companies are each preparing the FDA premarket approval supplements to obtain clearance. The CAD technology is designed to detect findings that physicians might otherwise miss when reviewing mammograms, says Fischer, of Denver, Colorado.
