Brazil drafts renal services accreditation guide

Brazil is preparing new guidelines for the accreditation of nephrology and renal replacement therapy services, with the aim of legislating in this area. Brazil's national accreditation office - Organizacao Nacional de Acreditacao (ONA) - is leading the initiative, with the publication of a working document that will form the basis of an open consultation process due to be launched shortly. A number of regulatory and specialist bodies, including national healthcare surveillance agency, ANVISA, and the Brazilian nephrology society (SBN), are also involved.
