Starplex Scientific has received US FDA 510(k) clearance for its on-site point-of-care urine test that can detect drugs of abuse within five minutes. Startox is a self-contained sample collection and analysis device designed to identify cocaine, opiates, THC, PCP, and amphetamines in urine simultaneously. It incorporates a sample cup designed by Etobicoke, Ontario-based Starplex, and patented membrane strips developed by American Bio Medica.
