Medtronic is launching in the US its Bridge Assurant balloon-expandable peripheral stent delivery system for treating difficult-to-reach biliary occlusions. The stent, which is available in 20, 30, 40 and 60mm lengths, is indicated for use in maintaining patency of a bile duct that is occluded by a malignant tumour. The product provides accurate stent placement and high radial strength while maintaining flexibility and conformability, said the Minneapolis, Minnesota firm.
