St Jude Medical is seeking FDA go-ahead to begin a trial of its small IsoFlex pacing lead, which is intended to provide doctors with a smaller passive-fixation lead for use with the firm's range of bradycardia pacemakers. The IsoFlex can be threaded through a 7F sheath, which facilitates easy insertion and manoevrability, says the St Paul, Minnesota firm, which has already submitted an application to market the product in Europe.
