Two new study groups have been set up at the French healthcare product safety agency, AFSSAPS, the first on breast prostheses and the second on medical devices that fill skin depressions. The French authorities have long been concerned about safety of breast prostheses and have closely monitored these products, not hesitating to withdraw them from the market when there have been safety concerns.
